Mrs. Flossie L. Bowers
Mrs. Flossie L. Bowers, 77, Rt. 3, died at 12:30 p.m., Monday in Huntington Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for a year.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of the East State Street Church of God and its Prayer Group; a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Union Thrifty Club and Senior Citizens.
She was born Nov. 9, 1899, in Convoy, Ohio to Charles Monroe and Lucy Jane Myers Ingmire, and her marriage was on June 6, 1916 to Samuel Howard Bowers Sr. He died May 5, 1967.
Survivors include three sons, A. Wilmer Bowers, Convoy, Ohio and Walter H. and Samuel H. Jr., both of Rt. 3; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Coble, Huntington and Mrs. David (Eileen) Sayler, Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Two grandchildren, four brothers and six sisters are deceased.
Friends may call at the Merckx-Hart Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and at the East State Street Church of God from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Lewis Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, and preferred memorials are to the Cancer Society or Huntington House.

Pallbearers were Monty Coble, Charles Coble, Joe Coble, Keith Bowers, Michael Bowers, Alan Bowers, Kent Bowers and Richard Sayler. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery.
