Wanda Naomi Woolman Abrahams, 95, of Frisco, TX, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in McKinney, TX.

Mrs. Abrahams was born January 16, 1922 in Neodesha, KS and raised in Ponca City, OK. She was a 1940 graduate of Ponca City High School, attended Stillwater Oklahoma College and graduated from McNeese State University, where she received her Master’s degree in education. She was married in 1946 and raised her family in Sulphur, LA, where she taught second grade at D.S. Perkins Elementary School for sixteen years where Mr. Axtel was principal. She had a true passion for teaching others, and implemented the Spalding Reading Program, teaching children, teachers, as well as her granddaughter, Courtney Burkart and her great-granddaughter, Delaney Moody.

Mrs. Abrahams is survived by her son, Greg Abrahams and wife Linda of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Jan Moody and husband Dr. Terry Moody of Dallas, TX and Peggy Burkhart and son-in-law Barry Burkhart of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Kyle Moody and wife Michelle, David Moody and wife Renae, Jerad Burkhart and wife Lauren, Courtney Burkhart and Steve Broom. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Annie, Savannah, Delaney, Charlotte, Mia, Lincoln and Roman Moody along with Isabelle, Eden and Reese Burkhart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Abrahams; and brothers, Earl, Al and Wayne Woolman.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5-7PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 10AM-2PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 2PM, officiated by her nephew, Rev. John Hoffpauir. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
