DEATH OF MRS. HEFFNER [sic]
The many friends in the city were surprised to learn this morning of the death of Mrs. O. O. Heffner, formerly Mrs. M. Gahan, which occurred last evening at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Meyers in Omaha. Mrs. Heffner has been sick for over a year with a cancer which caused her death. In years past the family has been one o the most prominent in Grand Island. It was six years ago that Mrs. Heffner left this city to reside in Lexington. Besides her husband she leaves a large family of children to mourn her loss. They are Mrs. Frank Meyers, Mrs. Arthur Walsh, Miss June Gahan and Miles Gahan, all of Omaha, her sisters, Mrs. J. E. White of Omaha, Miss Nellie Watts of Kearney, her brothers, William Watts of Michigan and Frank Watts of St. Joseph.
The remains will be brought to this city on the Overland Limited train at 10:05 tomorrow afternoon and the funeral will take place directly after the arrival here from the depot. Rev. T. J. Mackay of the Episcopal church of Omaha will conduct the funeral service in Omaha and will accompany the remains to this city.

Mrs. O. O. Hefner
Succumbing to a long illness, Mrs. O. O. Hefner, 52 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. H. Myers, 1026 South Thirty-Second street, yesterday afternoon. The funeral services will be held from the residence today and interment will be at Grand Island Tuesday. Besides Mrs. Myers, Mrs. Hefner is survived by another daughter, Mrs. A. H. Walsh.
