Betty is survived by her children, Lisa Blankenship, John Blankenship, Linda Barron, Carey Hicks, Catherine Doty, James Blankenship, and Richard Perkins; ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Betty was a Navy Veteran and a Virginia Beach Hospice Volunteer, receiving the Hospice Volunteer of the Year Award in 1994.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
