Mr. Lonnie Devon Moore, 71 years of age of Dunn, N.C., was born on April 22, 1946. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Moore was the son of the late Lonnie and Sarah Haire Moore of Sampson County. He attended Midway High School. He then married his wife, Daisy Baggett Moore. He was employed with Swift Denim Textiles for 36 years. He worked as a PM fixer and then attended Central Carolina Community College where he received his GED diploma. He then attended Barber School in Winston Salem and worked as a barber at Johnny’s Barber Shop in Dunn for 11 years.

Mr. Moore had attended Lighthouse of Holiness Church since 1984 until time of his departure to go be with his Heavenly Father. He loved the Lord and was very active in his church. He was a guitarist and also church treasurer from 1984 until the time his of death.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Wayne Moore and a brother, Daniel Ray Moore.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Lighthouse of Holiness Church 1903 Green Path Rd. Dunn with Pastor Rev. Tom Britt, Rev. Daniel Evans and Rev. Joshua Campbell. Burial will follow in the Tew-Baggett Cemetery in Sampson County.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Daisy Baggett Moore, daughters, Carol Moore (Chris Moore) of Linden, Renee Moore (Manuel) of Dunn, grandsons, , Brandon Marshall Terry (Ashley) and Jacob Rivera of Dunn, Dylan and Jonathan Moore of Linden, his granddaughter, Candice Denae Smith (Ken) of Hope Mills, three great-grandsons, Braxton Marshall Terry, Bentley Michael Terry of Dunn, and Jason Moore of Hope Mills, one great granddaughter. Aalyiah Jay’Lyn Hobbs of Dunn, sister, Elizabeth Peters (Delma) of High Point, brothers, David Moore (Arlene) of Princeton, Floyd Moore (Lois) of Dunn, Leon Moore (Angela) of Godwin, sister-in-law, Linda Moore of Dunn, brother-in-law, Cecil Baggett (Florence), and a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 1870 Green Path Rd. Dunn, NC 28334.
