Bobbie Sue Carter age 82, of Arab passed away Tues. Sept. 12, 2017, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice Facility in Albertville.
Ms. Carter was born on Jan. 21, 1935, in Marshall County, AL the daughter of Darris Z. and Minnie I. Marsh Putnam.
Ms. Carter graduated from Arab High School in 1953. She worked as a waitress for a time in Guntersville before going to work for Bell Telephone in Birmingham.
Bobbie celebrated 34 years of sobriety on July 11th and she sponsored many members through her work in Alcoholics Anonymous. She was a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother and devoted friend to many. She attended Life Gate Baptist Church in Arab.
She is survived by her Daughter: Susan (John) Emerson of Arab; Granddaughter: Whitney Emerson of Arab; Sister in law: Nellie Putnam of Arab; Special Friend “Like a Daughter”: Donna Tidmore of Huntsville; 8 Nieces and Nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: Darris Z. and Minnie I. Putnam; Siblings: Kate Marsh, Thurman Putnam, Tommie Lou Jarrett and Faye Marsh; Former Husband: Joe W. Carter.
Funeral Service will be Friday Sept. 15, 2017, at 11 AM at Gober Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Brookwood Cemetery.
Eulogies will be offered by Bro. Kenneth Putnam and Donna Tidmore. Bro. Arthur Feemster will officiate the service. Graveside committal service will be officiated by Bro. Greg Stone.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Marsh, Jerry Clay, Randy Putnam, Ronnie Bart Childers, George Bright and Bo Whitaker. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tony Jarrett, Erby Putnam, Mack Maze and Jerry Calhoun.
