ROCKY MOUNT - Jean Carol Queen Worrell, 84, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017.

Born in Morganton on Feb. 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney G. Queen and Eula B. Queen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood R. Worrell Jr.; brothers, Robert E. Queen and James P. Queen; and sister, Judy Q. Chambers.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Robert L. Worrell of Rocky Mount; daughter, Lisa Worrell Reid, and husband, Jim, of Rocky Mount; granddaughter, Melissa Reid Szabo, and husband, Aaron, of Rocky Mount; great-grandson, Carter Reid Szabo of Rocky Mount; brother, Ronald H. Queen of Florida; and sister, Nancy Q. Wiley of Alabama.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Wilson. The family will receive friends and relatives 7 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the atrium of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Nash Health Care System Hospice and Palliative Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
