Mark Alan Benson, 48, of Pleasant Hill formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 14th in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Snook, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 15th at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Emily Flaig of Albia, IA; parents, Doug and Barb Benson of Pleasant Hill; brother, Brian Benson and his wife, Kelly and their children, Jacob and Karli of West Des Moines; and his grandmother, Louise Mock of Belmond, IA.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Marilyn Harris; Russell and Cleda Benson; Dena and Dave Schlesinger; and Bill Mock.
Mark Alan Benson was born on August 21, 1969, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here. Following his education, he worked for P.I.C. Pig Improvement Co as a herdsman and then later at Iowa Select Farms in Iowa Falls. Enjoyed riding and racing motor cross. Loved animals, especially his dog and best friend, Zoi.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
