Marvin was the son of Gail and Gertrude (Dixon) Lawson, born in Hammondsville, Kentucky, on March 27, 1929. He was married to Beverly (Pelfree) Lawson for 51 years. Marvin was a self-employed heating and air conditioning technician, but also worked with other area contractors. He loved to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy Johnson, Lawrence Lawson, and Virginia “Ginny” Fisher; and grandson, Joseph Howe.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Shirley Riggs (Melburn) of Elizabethtown, KY, Lisa Silvers (Kerby) of Bloomington, Rebecca Mitchell (Tim) of New Jersey, Robert Lawson (Cassandra) of Bloomington, Marvin Lawson, Jr. of Martinsville, Anne Garrison of Bloomington, and Marvin Garrison of Bloomington; siblings, Shirley Arthur, Clint Eastwood, Donna Lawyer, Mary Ann Fitzpatrick, Evelyn Eads, and Gail “Junior” Lawson; twenty-seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
