Gina Vannette Bennett, 53, wife of Russell Cook, entered into rest on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at home with loving family members at her bedside.
Graveside services will be held in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Carson Britt officiating.
Gina had 30 years of service with the State of Georgia and retired as the Assistant Director of Psychology at East Central Regional Hospital. She dedicated her life to the Lord and service to others. Gina was a member of the Harlem Baptist Church and the Church Choir. She was Russell's wife, friend and his life as well as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. For two years, she fought cancer like a warrior. Gina loved her nieces and nephews like a mother.
Survivors include her husband Russell Cook; her father, Benny Vann Bennett, Sr.; a sister, LaShon Renee Bennett; a sister in law, Jennifer Wulk Bennett; one aunt, Patricia Lee McCallum; one uncle, Al Lee; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and three Pugs, Milo, Caesar and Max.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Lynette Bennett and her brother, Benny "Benjie" Vann Bennett, Jr.
