Norfolk - Bernice Elizabeth Franklin, 104, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 in a local convalescent center. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Lizzie Post Franklin and Horace P. Franklin. She had retired from the Naval Exchange after many years of service.

Survivors include, nieces, Carolyn Dunbar (Dean), and Carolyn Bivins (Ray); nephews, Phillip L. Franklin (Suzanne) and Baxter Austin; cousins, Paulette Rogerson (Dewey) and Anne Curtis McCoy (Michael) and their children, Grace and Emily.

She was the oldest member of Central Baptist Church and its Fifty Year Fellowship group.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 16th in Riverside Cemetery with Dr. Tinney Parrish officiating. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.hdoliver.com
