Constrance S. Andrews, 105, of Kunkletown, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022.
Constance was born in Kunkletown on March 7, 1917, a daughter of the late Franklin and Mamie (Smith) Everett.
She was married to the love of her life, Emmett Cornell Andrews, who preceded her in death in 1989.
Constance had worked as a teacher in the Pleasant Valley School district for 47 years. "Mrs. Andrews" was a teacher to three generations of families and began her career in several one room schoolhouses, teaching all subjects to first through eighth graders. She spent most of her years at Eldred Elementary and continued to both substitute teach and volunteer as an aide there many years after retiring.
She was a member of St. Matthews UCC in Kunkletown and a former member of the Eldred Township Historical Society.
Constance was an extremely talented artist in both the German art of papercutting, Scherenschnitte, and the Polish papercutting art of Wycinanki. Fine tuning these arts, reading and tending to her flower gardens gave her extreme pleasure in her years after retirement.
So many have been blessed with the presence of Constance in their lives. She made a tremendous impact on so many students, acquaintances, friends and family over the years. Her determination to live a long life of listening, learning and teaching was truly inspirational.
She will be deeply missed by her son, William Andrews, and his wife Carolyn, of Palmerton.
Grandma (or GG), was the loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Alyssa Hager, and her husband Frank, Nathan Andrews, and his wife Shelli, and Jonathan Andrews, and his wife Danelle, and her four great-grandchildren, Sam and Olivia Hager, Emily and Ryan Andrews. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Andrews-Gilboy; a son, David Andrews; a sister, Kathleen Freeby; and two brothers, Donald and Weldon Everett.
