Ina Kathryn “Dootsie” Bost King of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Ms. King was born January 1, 1943 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Lander Lee and Ina Hefner Bost. She was a graduate of Statesville High School and Appalachian State University. She worked as a dietician for Iredell Memorial Hospital and The Brian Center of Statesville. Kathryn enjoyed fishing, animals, baking cakes and was very talented at painting and drawing.

She is survived by a sister, Carolyne Shackleford of Texas; a number of nieces and nephews, including niece, Michelle Morgan (James) of Statesville, nephew, Jeffrey Smith of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Bost in 2005.

Graveside services was Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr. officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Iredell County Animal Services, 430 Bristol Dr., Statesville, NC 28677
