William S. Mayer Sr., age 52, of New Britain, formerly of Norwich and West Haven, passed away suddenly on September 9, 2017. He was born in Norwalk, CT., son of the late Paul E. Mayer Jr. and Helen Hedrick Mayer. He is survived by his children William S. Mayer Jr. of New Milford and Brianna R. Mayer of Hamden, his siblings, Melissa San Souci of West Haven, James Mayer and his wife Lisa of Monroe and Paul Mayer III of West Haven, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, Lori Cote, the mother of his children, and special family members Johanne and Julie Vincent.
Bill attended Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT and attended Norwalk Technical College. He had a passion for the game of baseball from a very young age and played his whole life. He still played softball often and loved to coach girls softball. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He also had a love for bowling and was on numerous leagues throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family and cherished each and every moment with them. Bill was a very proud father to William and Brianna.
