LYDIA HOPPIN - Born 22 Dec 1766. Died 17 Dec 1820. Married Thomas Hall, 22 May 1791 in Guilford, Conn, He is the son of Philemon Hall and Sarah Page and was born in Guilford, Conn., 1 Aug 1761 where he died 9 Feb 1799, In 1818 Lydia Hoppin Hall moved with her two sons to Coshocton, Ohio, They went via the home of relatives near Albany, N,y, to a grant of land, in Ohio, made to an early Hall for military service, They settled in Berlin Township, Coshocton County, Thomas Hall enlisted from Guilford, Conn- in the Revolutionary Army in June 1777 for the duration of the war, served as a private until 1 Jan 1781 and thereafter as a Corporal until honorably discharged on June 9, 1783 from 2nd Reg't Conn, Regulars under command of Col, Homan Swift. In 1818 Lydia is one of the parties to a sale of land to Joel Tuttle of Guilford which in part, at least, came down to them from Mereb Parmalee and as acquired by them on 13 March 1777 by Gideon Hoppin, The above data from Eugene Raymond Balls
