Jessie Jewel Baker, of Wynnewood, was born to Markus and Ora Bell (Rich) Choate on May 14, 1927 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. She passed from this life September 10, 2017 at her home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.
She and Howard M. "Bill" Baker were married in Quartzsite, Arizona on December 9, 1945. They made their home in Wynnewood where they raised their nine children. Jewel worked many places including Ensey's Café in Wynnewood and also the Wynnewood Convalescent Home for many years until her retirement. Her hobbies included sewing and embroidering for her family and grandchildren from daylight to dark; she loved to sew.

Her surviving family include her three daughters, Linda James, of Modesto, California; Barbara Baker of Pauls Valley; and Lisa Buckner and husband, Dave, of Wynnewood; four sons, Kenny Baker and wife, Wyvondia, of Davis; Barney Baker, Ronnie Baker and wife, Janie; and Keith Baker, all of Wynnewood; one sister, Helen Gore of McAlester; special son in law, Jimmy Hubbard of Wynnewood; three special daughters in law, Kandi Baker of Sulphur; Janie Jolly; and Jody Baker, both of Texas; special thanks to Geraldine Sweetman for being a wonderful friend and neighbor; to T. J. Choate for making our mother laugh; and to Valley Hospice Team for their loving care. Surviving family also include her grandchildren, Byran Schmidt; Michella Baker; Jerry Baker & wife, Jennifer; Misty Scheuerman and husband, Tony; Morgan Baker, Charlotte Caudle and family; Christy Spencer and family; Phyllis Baker; Nancy Baker; Donald "Bud" Baker; Melia Svendsen & family; Alesha Compton & Family; Desia Simmons; Bryan Gilliland; Shawn Sudbury-Gilliland; Randy Popejoy; Velline Ellett; Candace Toups; Race Baker and wife, Shena; Remington Baker; Frankie Brown, Jr. and wife Lauryn; Booker Brown; Jessica Brown; Wendell Baker, II, & wife Jynie Jo; Charles Baker; Dylan Baker & wife, Punky; Haley Baker; Stephanie Hubbard & husband, Junior; and Jessie Brooke Carter & husband, Clinton, as well as, three great grandchildren was the closest to her & saw almost every day was: Kinley Hubbard, Jordan Brown-Rushing, and little Lottie Jewel; and she had many great grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Bill" Baker in 1987; two sons, Jerry Baker in 2015 and Donnie Baker in 2011; as well as two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Chaplain Tim Duncan. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
