Craig Allen Green, 60, of 565 N. Maple St., Mercer, passed away peacefully at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Craig was born on July 28, 1950, in New Castle to Ralph E. and Dolores Wolfe Green.

He was a graduate of New Castle High School and New Castle Business College, where he met his beloved wife.

Mr. Green served in the Navy for four years, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam aboard the USS Frank Knox.

He attended the Mercer United Methodist Church.

Craig worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Grove City. He enjoyed working alongside all his fellow co-workers for more than 31 years delivering mail with pride in all types of weather.

His wife, the former Cindy Lou Harris, whom he exchanged wedding vows with on Nov. 4, 1978, survives.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Elizabeth Green; a sister, Candace Green; a nephew, Kevin Green; and his mother-in-law, Jean Harris.
