Oneida Whitfield Stevens, daughter of the late Allen Whitfield and Hattie Adams Whitfield, was born August 18, 1927 in Old Joe, Arkansas. She departed this life September 9, 2017 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 90 years, 3 weeks, and 1 day. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her lifetime, she lived in Texas where she was united in marriage to Odell Stevens in August 1948. She was of the Assembly of God faith.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Sharon of Winter Springs, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law: Paula and David Cardona of Granbury, Texas; two brothers: Levi Whitfield of Wyoming and Dean Whitfield of Missouri; four sisters: Helen Hathaway of Indiana, Wilma Huff of Norfork, Bobbie Sanders of Calico Rock and Norma Lee Speaks of Missouri; five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery with Jeff Sanders officiating.
