Delores Elaine Knight Wallace, 82, went to join with our Lord September 8, 2017 in Hutchinson, Kansas.She was born December 22, 1934 at Lebo, Kansas the daughter of Walter and Evelyn Baker Knight. As a child Delores attended the Key West School and later graduated from Lebo High School with the Class of 1952. Delores married the love of her life, Donald Lee Wallace on June 15, 1952. They would begin their lives together on a farm east of Lebo. In 1956 they moved to Williamsburg, Kansas where Delores worked as a bookkeeper for the local grain elevator that Don managed. In 1965 Don and Delores moved to Gardner, Kansas where she was employed at Cramer Chemical and also as the bookkeeper for the Gardner elevator. In 1973 they made their home in Lebo. Delores worked at Berg & Frost in Emporia until she and Don purchased East Central Monument in Lebo. They later purchased Reeble Monuments in Emporia. Don and Delores worked side by side until their retirement in 2001. On July 9, 2006 her devoted husband Don preceded her in death after 54 years of treasured memories. Delores was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sharon Kay VanArsdale;a granddaughter, Elaine Marie and a great-granddaughter, Janine. Delores had been living in Hutchinson, Kansas the past seven years. She will live on in the hearts of her daughters, Linda Campbell and her husband Richard of Hutchinson and Sheri Wallace of Park City; son, Kerry Wallace and his wife Ulli of Emporia; brothers, Daryl Knight and his wife LaDonna of Lebo and Terry Knight and his wife Janice of Lebo; grandchildren, Erin, Katie, Jason, Eric, Melanie, Laura, Svenja and Tanja; great- grandchildren, Evey, Caelan, Easton, Hunter,Ethan, Addison, Noah, Balen, Gage, Rowan, Victoria, Lucas,Leona, Xena, Hadassah, Marcel, Jessica, Dominik, Delia and Philipp; and a plethora of extended family and dear friends. A celebration of Delores life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Lebo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Monday evening at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo.
