Joe Dan Ward, 62, of Littlefield passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Littlefield. He was born August 16, 1955 in Littlefield to Hoot and Bonnie Ward. Joe married Roxanne Seeman May 17, 1981 in Littlefield. He was a hard worker and an entrepreneur, starting and running several companies in the area. He owned and operated Joes Pumping Service for several years before selling to Johnson Pumping. Then he started Country Dumpsters in 1996 and ran it until 2010 before selling. Joe enjoyed camping and fishing, and liked music, especially Stevie Ray Vaughn. He was a proud Texan, and was very knowledgeable in Texas history. He was active in many organizations over the years, serving as a Scout Master for Boys Scouts, a coach for Little League, and he and Roxanne were very involved in the Littlefield Band Boosters. Above all else, Joe loved his family, especially his sweetheart Roxanne, and providing for her and his children was his greatest priority. Joe is survived by his daughter, Tammy Ward-Allred and husband Aaron, of Levelland; son, Chris Ward of Cuero, Texas; two granddaughters, Kristan Ward and Carly Allred of both of Levelland; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxanne Ward, on March 13, 2009; his parents; son in law, Tim Hanna; and three brothers, Monty Ward, Cap Ward and Dave Ward. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2017 at Grace Chapel at Hillcrest Funeral Home, with Tom Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Gore, Tracy Mitchell, Montana Murrell, Maverick Murrell, Mikey Dalton and Chuck Brown. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
