Lawrence - Aug 6 - Harry Conrad Thurnau, 58, for 20 years a professor of German at the University of Kansas, died at his home here today of cerebral hemorrhage.
Thurnau held three degrees from the University of Michigan. Before going to Kansas University in 1915, he was an Associate Professor of German at Oberlin College. He had traveled to Europe and once studied at the University of Berlin.
Thurnau had a wide acquaintance among university students. He was Chairman of the University Eligibility Committee which governed all non-athletic student activities.
His widow, Mrs Myrtle Elliott Thurnau, survives.
