Wesley Emory Clark, 59, was born on April 26, 1958 to Roy Earl Clark and Margie Best Clark.

As the son of a methodist minister, Wes grew up in many communities throughout central and western Kentucky. He graduated from Bowling Green High School and went on to graduate in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in biology from Kentucky Wesleyan College. While there he sang in the ensemble "Koinonia" and "The Wesleyan Singers" in addition he was a member of the Order of Oak and Ivy.

He taught middle school science in Bardstown while getting a master's degree in secondary education from Western Kentucky University. He continued studies at the University of Kentucky in administration and supervision.

His love for science fueled his passion for farming, which grew into breeding and raising beef and dairy cattle in Lebanon. He also grew crops of tobacco and corn. He taught science at Lexington Traditional Magnet School, Morton Middle School and Dunbar High School.

After 30 years of teaching he retired to full time farming and part time substitute teaching in Woodford and Fayette counties. He also enjoyed working the yearling, racing and breeding stock sales at Keeneland.

His love for his Alma Mater was fulfilled during his tenure as president of the Kentucky Wesleyan Alumni Association. Gifted with his beautiful bass voice, he sang in the choir at Centenary United Methodist Church and also at First United Methodist Church in Lexington where he served on many church councils and taught Sunday School with his wife, Meredith, for seven years.

He was preceded in death by: sister, Karen Clark Ragland.

Survivors include: his parents; his loving wife, Meredith Carlson Clark; daughters, Jordan Elizabeth Clark and Joanna Abigail Clark; son, Nathan Philip Clark; sister, Lee Ann Dimiceli; two nieces; and a great nephew.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at First United Methodist Church, Lexington, with burial in Ryder Cemetery in Lebanon. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, was in charge of arrangements.
