Ava Lee Starks was born on February 27, 1956 in Dumas, Arkansas. She was the daughter of James Starks and Robbie Lee Wilson. She was reared in Magnolia, Arkansas under the watchful and loving care of Hudson and Savannah Murphy.

On April 3, 1995 she untied in marriage to Jimmy Dale Johnson. Ava enjoyed life to the fullest. As she transitioned into adulthood, Ava's first taste of the Lord was experienced at Mount Superior Baptist Church in Magnolia, under the leadership of Reverend James Aubrey.

Ava decided that there was no one greater than Jesus. She searced all over and could not find nobody; no one greater than her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. At this point she united with the Mount Sinai Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Jewel Primm. Ava was employed at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant until her health began to deteriorate.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Robbie Davis, her father James Starks, one sister Joyce Starks, four brothers, Lou Sydney Ford, Carl Joe Peterson and McKinnon Perterson and one son, James Frank Morris, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Jimmy Dale Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansas, two sons, Mario Demetric(Zella)Morris of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Hudson Miller of El Dorado, Arkansas, one daughter Emma Doss of El Droado, ARkansas, three grandsons, Bobby Winzer, Torey Phillips and Deonte Morris, five granddaughters, Savannah Phillips, Ashanti Morris, Yasmine Morris, Jamari Morris and Jalae Morris, nine sisters, Charlotte Starks, Louise Starks, Brenda Starks and Kathleen Eltayed all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Annie Lee Ford, Pateria(Robert)Finley and Barbara(Wayne)Robertson all of El Dorado, Arkansas, Josie(Gary)Roberson of Centerville, Arkansas, Ethel(Frederick)Johnson of Dallas, Texas, four brothers, Robert Starks of Atlanta, Gerogia, Kenneth(Onico) and Roy(Regina)Starks of Pine Bluff, ARkasnsa and J.M. Peterson,Jr. of Grady, Arkansas along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration for Ava will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Freewill Baptist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. Jewell Primm officiating and interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Freewill Cemetery under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, December 2, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
