Mary Edith (Chevallier) Bowman, 93, of Cromwell, wife of the late Richard C. Bowman, died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Covenant Village in Cromwell. Born November 30, 1923 in Torrington, daughter of the late Louis J. and Lillian (Emelia) Chevallier, she had lived in Cromwell since June 2001.
She graduated from Glastonbury High School and the University of Connecticut. Mary Edith was a past member of the First Church of Christ in Glastonbury, First Church of Christ in Danbury, the South Glastonbury Congregational Church, and the Rocky Hill Congregational Church.
She was a member of the Welcome Wagon in Danbury and the Candy Stripers at Danbury Hospital. Mary Edith enjoyed genealogy, traveling and sailing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bruce Richard and Linda Gail (Crane) Bowman, her granddaughter Suzanne Katherine (Bowman) Trimble and her husband Michael Patrick Trimble, and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Trimble and Brooke Victoria Trimble.
As per her request, there will be no services. She will be buried next to her husband in St. James Cemetery, Glastonbury.
