Martin Bruce Hicks, 64 Years old, of International Falls Bridge, Minnesota, passed away Mar. 30, 2016, at the hospital. He was under the care of the emergency room while traveling.

Martin Hicks was born May. 11, 1951, on a bridge, to Patricia Virginia Marie Gauthier. He went to the closest hospital. His father, a machinist at the time, was notified.

He remained unmarried through his life. Attended University for 2 years of his life, general floated between jobs, wives and children. His commitment issues were a struggle, but he remained committed to the surviving children; Katherine A Hicks (Grass Valley, California), Sara Hicks (Thunder Bay, ON), Dave Hicks (Thunder Bay, ON), Sarah Lyne Hicks-Catcher (Ottawa, ON & St. Paul's, Minnesota), Martin Liam Hicks (Kingston, ON).

He was a member of the Anglican Church. He belonged to a poetry club and often enjoyed writing short stories. Patricia Hicks (Gauthier) and her husband often spend time in Minnesota and Ontario in their son's younger years, up until 1972 and University for Martin. Martin would write poetry in the back seat of the car and short stories to past the travel time, which lead to a full time hobby in his older years.

Martin enjoyed camping, road-trips, writing poetry, hanging out at the park or restaurants. Her great enjoyment was with his daughter, Sarah, and her numerous stories of adventure each time she left Ottawa.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Lynne, and his granddaughters, Airlyn, Kaylin, Sierra, and Laura Priceless, all of St Paul; his brother, died early in 1974, leaving him as the last child alive of Patricia Gauthier (Lagerstrom, Hicks) interchangeably throughout the years.

He was pronounced dead suddenly and taken too soon. He was cremated with no reception as per his desired intent. His wishes were to be remembered by his writings, poetry and expression in Minnesota / up in Thunder Bay's coffee shop as this is where he donated his pieces for the wall.

Donations and flowers are not necessary. Contributions can be made to Martin Liam's scholarship fund through Sarah Lyne HicksCatcher of Ottawa, ON. It is being held until his legal age on his behalf.
