Alfred M. Luebke, age 66, of 13628 County Line Road, Town of Meeme, passed away Sunday, Oct 1, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Alfred was born May 2, 1940, in the Town of Meeme, of the late Lester and Linda (Schreiber) Luebke. He attended Schwartzwald School, and graduated from Kiel High School in 1958. On July 14, 1962, he married Naomi Olson in Valders. Together the couple farmed the family homestead from 1969 until he sold the cows in 2002.
Alfred was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ-Schwarzwald. He was involved with the consistory, serving two terms, one as president. Alfred was also active with the Ada volunteer fire department for over 30 years. He always enjoyed antique tractors and going to tractor pulls.
In addition to his wife of 44 years; Naomi, Alfred is survived by his children: Allan (Karen) Luebke of Kiel; Kristine (Michael) Knickelbein of New Holstein; Karl (Tammi) Luebke of New Holstein; Karol (David) Bloechel of Sheboygan; and Aaron (Kristine) Luebke of Elkhart Lake. He is survived by his grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Henry (Myra) Luebke, Harold (Ann) Luebke, Roy Luebke, Wayne Luebke, and David (Julianne) Luebke; and his sisters: Lila Vogt and Loretta (Alvin) Kracht: mother-in-law: Stella Olson; a brother-in-law; Marvin (Ruth) Olson; and a sister-in-law: Lola (Earl) Otto. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son; his father-in-law, Kenneth Olson; a brother-in-law, Arland Vogt; and a nephew, Jeffrey Vogt.
Funeral services for Alfred will be at St. John's United Church of Christ-Schwarzwald. Rev Rebecca Johnson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow services at St. John's Cemetery.
