Cruces Mishap Kills Woman, 75
A 75-year-old Las Cruces woman was killed and her 74-year-old husband seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-car collision on US-85 fourteen miles south of Las Cruces.
Mrs. Priscilla Goethals died of chest injuries when the car her husband, George, was driving was struck in the rear by a car driven by Joe Srausto, 22, of Ft. Bliss, Texas.
State Police said the Srausto car was traveling at a high rate of speed. Both vehicles overturned. Srausto suffered cuts and bruises.
