GENTRY Lloyd, Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born January 15, 1934 to Mamie (Smith) and Lloyd Gentry in Richmond, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers- Paul and W.D., sister, Ethel Brandenburg, his wife Patricia Ann and son Lloyd Keith. He is survived by a daughter, Jana (Chris) Eckhart of Plantation, Florida and a son, Troy (Angie) Gentry of Franklin, Tennessee. Four grandchildren, Chris Doerr and Elizabeth Russo of Plantation, Florida, Taylor Gentry of Louisville, Kentucky and Kaylee Gentry of Franklin, Tennessee, along with his special friend and companion of seven years, Carol Mayabb. Lloyd was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by many. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the T. J. Survivors other than her husband are two sons, Troy (Angie) Gentry, Franklin, TN, and Keith Gentry, Lexington; a stepdaughter, Jana Doerr, FL; two granddaughters, Taylor Peyton Gentry, Frankfort, and Kaylee Alexandra Gentry, Franklin, TN; and two half sisters, Betty Simpson and Debbie Switzer, both of Lexington.
Private services will be at a later date. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements. Contributions are suggested to the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy (MIRT), 4301 West Markhem, Slot 853, Attn: Alan Heath B.S.N., Little Rock, AR 72205.
