OBITUARY: Dwayne L. Phillips
Dwayne Lee Phillips, 68, of Belington, died Tuesday morning, September 5, 2017,.at his home, following a sudden illness.
He was born March 21, 1949, at Philippi, a son of the late Raymond “John” and Martha Evelyn (Jones) Phillips.
On December 15, 1967, he married the former Diana “Sue” Price, who survives at their home, near Belington.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Michael Phillips.
Mr. Phillips retired as foreman for Talbott’s Planing Mill. He was a member of Faith Way Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and loved sharing his outdoor skills with his grandsons. He was known to be calm and kind hearted and always available to help anyone in distress.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from the Faith Way Baptist Church with Pastor Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Faith Way Baptist Church Cemetery on Camp Popeye Road.
Friends may call at the Schoonover - Stemple Funeral Chapel, 95 South Crim Avenue, Belington from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M., on Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, when Mr. Phillips will be moved to Faith Way Baptist Church where friends may call from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour.
