Mr. Adkison was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1974 to Dwight S. and Carolyn Ann (Kidd) Adkison in Mansfield and was a life resident . Michael was employed with Mansfield Plumbing in Loudonville for seven years before becoming disabled. He was a member of the 1993 graduating class of Mansfield Senior High School.
Michael enjoyed fishing, listening to music and being a dad to his children.
In addition to his parents Michael is survived by two children: Caitlyn Carper of Mansfield, and Michael D. Adkison Jr. of Jeromesville; favorite niece: Sheniqua Adkison of Mansfield; 6 godchildren: Ayonna and Jaheim Osborne and Cierra Osborne-Taylor, Janae and Miya Mack, Kelee Carper Kyla Touray of Mansfield; god brother: Jeff McCoy of Mansfield; god sister: Julie Elders of Mansfield and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his sister Doris Adkison, maternal grandparents Ivy and Mary Kidd, Rev. Johnnie & Malissa Swope; paternal grandparents Andrew and Katie Irving; and paternal great-grandmother Evelyn Hayes
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Services by Bishop Robert Smallwood of the Kingdom and Worship Center of Nashville, in Nashville, Tennessee. Friends may call at the chapel beginning at 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends at his home he shared with his mom, 387 Harmon Avenue, daily from 4 to 8 p.m. until the day of service.
