Mr. Hunter entered into rest on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Willis-Knighton South Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Taylor, La. and lived in Shreveport for most of his life. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during W.W.II. He was retired from L.S.U. Medical Ceter. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Kathy.
Mr. Hunter is preceded in death by his parents, Willam Lafate Hunter and Lillie Mae Gamble Hunter; one grandson, Shawn Ray Bozeman, and two sisters, Viginia Hunter and Stella Flores. He is survived by his wife of many years, Cecelia Hunter of Missouri; two daughters, Kathy Welch and husband Royce of Stonewall, La., and Gracie Wallenkompf of Missouri; one son, Warren C. Hunter and wife Vicki of Missouri; two sisters, Willie Horne and Lena Conrad; one brother, Henry Federick Hunter; numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
