Carolyn Bice Kelton

Carolyn was born on February 15, 1934 and passed away in her home on August 27, 2017. She was 83 years old. She was born in Beaumont, Texas and was the only daughter out of four children to John and Beatrice Bice.
After graduating from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Education she moved to Iowa where she taught at a school for hearing impaired children. After moving back to Houston is when she met our dad Curtis Kelton. They were married on September 1, 1959. They were married for 56 years. Mom worked on and off as we were growing up but was mostly a stay at home mom. She loved to read and do puzzles.
She is survived by four children. Curtis Kelton Jr. of Austin and his wife Karyl and their two daughters Lauryn and Paige. Denise Hufford of Quincy Illinois and her husband Steve and their three children Meagen, Ashley and Taylor. Deanne Stone of Sugar land and her husband Rusty and their four children Jacquelyn, Trevor, Cameron and Tanner and Shannon Kelton of Austin. She is also survived by four great grandchildren. Kenny Stapleton, Avery and Evalyn Kolinek, Zachary Stone, and another great grandson on the way!
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
It gives us great comfort to know that daddy and her beloved dog Coco were there to meet her when she left us and that her toenails were painted hot pink!
