There is only one burial listed on the plot card, Mr. Ellison died 1921. There is no mention of son Alva, or daughter Effie who died 3 Mar 1901 in Elmore, or wife Elmira Castella who died 1 Jan 1915 in Bancroft, Kossuth Co., Iowa. Elmira Castella's obituary states she was buried at Riverview Cemetery at Elmore. Per Ananias's death certificate he died 8 Jan 1921 in Mason City, Cerro Gordo Co., IA, to be buried in Elmore. Therefore, I think it is probable that Mr. Ellison is Ananias, and it's also probable that Elmira Castella, Effie and Alva are buried here as well, part of the 6 lots of Lot No. 261.
In 2011 I called the keeper of the Riverview Cemetery records and was told that the only Ellison buried there was an A J Ellison 1897-1919. This threw me for awhile. I believe she said she was reading a typed list that was handed down to her. But it turned out she also had plot cards and I was able to get a copy of the A.J. Ellison plot card from a descendant who visited with the her in 2014. I now believe there was a transcription error in the typed list. (Note: I went on a hunt this morning 9/8/17 to see if I could find another occupant of this cemetery with dates 1897-1919. Yes, Tobias L Engedal 1897-1919. I believe it's entirely possible and probable that someone made a transcription error. Both men are "E's" and they were probably on the same page of paperwork.)
Ananias Ellison is the son of Solomon Ellison and Amy Dixon. He married Elmira Castella Moss 24 Dec 1874 in Chariton, Lucas Co., IA. He married next Catherine Geer Shindall 16 Jun 1917 in Cerro Gordo Co., IA. He is shown as Edward Ellison on their marriage record and he states his parents are Solomon Ellison and Amy Dixon. He is also shown on his daughter Ethel's marriage record in 1911 as Edward.
This is all my reasoning for declaring that Ananias Ellison is buried in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. If any disagree, I would be happy to rethink my position.
(Thank you, Donald J., for making the trip and providing information in addition to the plot card. Thank you, Doris B., for obituary on Elmira Castella.)
