Roelof Janse Terhune married Marike Van Voorhees, daughter of Gerrit Coertsen Van Voorhees and Willemptje Pieterse Luyster, at New Amersfort, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, on 5 May 1706 (banns 13 Apr 1706). Roelof ter Huine from N. Amersfort, and Maritie Gerrits from N. Amersfort, the 5 May they were united in marriage by me, V. Antonides, in the church at N. Amersfort.


Roelof Janse Terhune was named in his father's will dated on 20 February 1696/97.

Will dated 20 February 1696/97 John Albertse Terhuiennen of Flatlands. To wife Margarita Terhuiennen 1/2 of all my estate for life; the other 1/2 to children that are now or hereafter shall be born. Sons, Roelloff, Albert and Aucke. Brother Albert Terhuiennen and Reyneer Vansycklyn, guardians. Executors, brothers Albert Terhuiennen and Reyneer Vansycklen. Witnesses: Henry ffilkin, Tunis Jansen and Peter Brouwer.


Witnessed the baptism of Roelof Durie, son of Joost Duryea and Antje Terhune, on 26 January 1734/35 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Utrecht, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, (witnesses: Roelof Terhune, Mattje s.v.).


Witnessed the baptism of Roelof Duryea, son of Joost Duryea and Willempy Terhune, on 11 February 1738/39 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Utrecht, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, (witnesses: Roelof Terhuyen, Marretje).


Witnessed the baptism of John Duryea, son of Joost Duryea and Willempy Terhune, on 16 January 1743 at Reformed Dutch Church, Wolver Hollow (Oyster Bay), Queens Co., Long Island, New York, (witness: Roelif Terhune).

In the Name of God, Amen.

February 20, 1753, I, Roelof Terhune, of Gravesend, in King's county, Being very sick, will that, after payment of debts, etc., etc., I leave to my son, Gerret "my great selver kep, and my keenen swoord, and my leder britses, en the selver botten hoeler."

I give to my son Roeloff--a gun, to that child of my son Albert named Roelof, my gun and great Bybel. To son Albertus--All that farm where I now live and the meadow that lies in the Flatlands meadow, and he shall pay one hundred fifty pounds to each of my daughters, Willimentie, Marya, Hyntie, Alise and Margaret. To my son Gerret, one hundred and twenty pounds out of a piece of land in Flatbush bounded by Bernardus Ryders or Johanes Lot and so by the highway. The surplus of money to my children and to children of daughter Ante, deceased--named Roelof, Johanes, and Marya. Roelof, twenty pounds, Johanes, forty pounds and Marya, sixty pounds. To my wife, five pounds and bed and bedstead with its furniture. If she lives with my son, Albertus, he shall pay her ten ounds a years. If not, he shall pay her sixteen pounds a years. Two sons and "son-in-law Jooster ye Younger" executors. They shall sell the lot above mentioned and use the interest for the use of my wife, but if she is not in want, they sall pay to my "poer sister, Geroeb, reclase, three pounds, eight shillings and seven pence yearly during her life, but when the payments are done my children shall pay to my poer sister, Lerrebrey. Witnesses: Engelbert Gott, Benjamin Ryder
