Douglas Wayne Jenkins, 69 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 18, 1948, to the late Harry Kermit Jenkins and Dorothy Elizabeth Nicholson Jenkins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Harris Jenkins.

Doug was a member of the Rose Park United Methodist Church, Wolftown Ruritans, and Madison American Legion Post 157. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Doug retired from Sprint in Charlottesville after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy McDaniel Jenkins; two daughters, Tabitha Renee Jenkins Brown and husband Dave and Amanda Jenkins Reynolds and husband, Chuck; one sister, Sue Jenkins Jarrell and husband, Eddie, all of Madison; three grandchildren, Carrie Ashley Brown Hardy, William Davis Brown, III, and Abigail Elizabeth Reynolds; and one great-grandchild, Molly Grace Hardy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Rose Park United Methodist Church, Wolftown, Va. conducted by Pastor Dan Albrant and Pastor Phil Hunsicker. Interment will be held in the Rapidan Rose Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday night, September 7, 2017, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va.
