James Joseph Harter, 85, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. Jim was born on February 19, 1932, in Menominee to the late Alfred and Lucy (Baiel) Harter.

Jim graduated from the former Our Lady of Lourdes High School, class of 1950, and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Jim was an accountant and worked for Unit Structures in Peshtigo, WI; Lloyd Manufacturing and Goldstone Sheet Metal.

Jim is survived by two sisters: Joanne Harter of Menominee, MI and Margaret (Tom) Harding of Marinette, WI;
his nieces and nephews: Bridget (David) Engen; Katie (Jason) Smogoleski; Chris (Betsy) Harding; and Kevin Harding;
and other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary.

Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 5:30 p.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of James Harter, on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
