Orvel E. Patterson, 91, of Clay City, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.
Mr. Patterson was born on July 28, 1911 in Clay County, the son of James and Dorothy (Nash) Patterson. He married Alice Wease on December 18, 1937 in Washington, Ind. She survives.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Noble.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Alice Patterson of Clay City; a daughter, Mavis Lynn and her husband, Galen of Ardmore, Okla.; a brother, John Patterson of Olney; three sisters, Elsie Taylor of Olney, Margaret McDowell of Olney and Dorothy Finnegan of Clay City; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
