ADAMS COUNTY PA CIVIL WAR VETERAN

Father was Michael Brenizer 1808-1836

The son of Michael & Mary Margaret (Wise) Brenizer, he married Sarah M. Whitcomb and fathered Edgar P. (b. 03/??/56), Samuel (b. @1858), Robert (b. @1871), John (b. @1874), Ellen (b. @1867), Sarah Ann (b. @1869), Herbert Ashland (b. 05/08/70), Emma (b. @1876), and Belle (b. 05/??/77). In 1860, he was a millwright living in Reading Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and stood 5' 8" tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in Adams County October 16, 1862, mustered into federal service at Gettysburg November 14 as a corporal with Co. C, 165th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), and honorably discharged with his company July 28, 1863, in Gettysburg. He was also drafted and mustered in Chambersburg February 28, 1865, as a private with Co. G, 91st Pennsylvania Infantry. He suffered a saber cut to the head April 5, 1865, and honorably discharged July 10, 1865.

In 1890, he lived in Tyrone Township, Adams County
