Patty Ann Moore, age 79, of Washington, Iowa, died August 30, 2017 in Washington.

Services and interment will be private. Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Patty’s family through the web at www.jonesfh.com

Patty was born May 16, 1938, the daughter of Orville and Clara (Bennett) Palmer. On March 31, 1956, Patty married the love of her life, John H. Moore, at the Loving Chapel United Methodist Church in Leon, Iowa. From this union came twin sons, Scott and Frank, daughter, Rhonda, twelve grandchildren and let’s just say many more great-grandchildren.

Patty worked a number of jobs in her lifetime including one at the Mobil Oil Company Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas. Her main job, however, was a stay at home mom raising her children. This also meant she was the neighborhood mom to all of her children’s friends and classmates as well. This is how she is most fondly remembered!

She is survived by her children: Frank Moore of LaSalle, CO; Scott Moore of Arlington, TX; and Rhonda Moore of Washington, IA; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

There were many life lessons we learned from our mother, but the one that stands out clearly is her love and devotion and their journey together through life’s hills and valleys. She had a way of remaining optimistic through it all. We will miss you mom, but you’ll never be far from our hearts!
