She was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Meriden, Conn., the daughter of Robert E. and Jean (Calverley) Lynes.
In 1958, she graduated from high school in Southington, Conn.
She married Thomas Lee Sims in Hartford, Conn., on Feb. 7, 1959.
Mrs. Sims was employed at Kings Department Store in Claremont, N.H., and later at the Grand Union store in Windsor until 2001 when she became ill.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Claremont for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo and riding roller coasters.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Sims of Charlestown, N.H., and Steven Sims of Gum Spring, Va.; four daughters, Linda Ramos of Lempster, N.H., Rosann LaLiberte, Karen Woodward, both of Windsor, and April Sykes of Brownsville; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sims was predeceased by her husband in 1987.
