Mark was born in Flint, Michigan on March 30, 1976, the son of Delbert and Donna (Skellett) Holland. He attended Valley Christian Academy K-12, where he made many lifelong friends.
On August 18, 1995 he married his high school sweetheart, Carrie. Mark was a man with many talents and worked for several years in the automotive and appraisal fields.
He joined the Clio Area Fire Department in 2000 as a volunteer firefighter, where he served for 7 years, and realized his calling to serve the public as a first responder. He worked for Swartz Ambulance as an EMT, and then a Paramedic. He then hired into the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, where he became a certified Police Officer. Mark worked there for 10 years, and was currently a Sergeant over the Paramedic Division.
He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, watching/coaching his kids sports and spending time with his family.
Surviving are wife, Carrie; children, Savannah, Dylan and Conner; parents, Delbert and Donna Holland; brother, Michael (Tiffany) Holland; grandma, Betty Skellett; many other beloved family members and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Szyarto and the nurses and staff at the Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute; also to his doctor and cherished friend, Dr. Nate Landesman. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Burles and Nadyne Holland and Raymond Skellett.
