Mr. Jack W. Caldwell, age 83, husband of Connie Millwood Caldwell of 149 Grey St., Woodruff, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Simpsonville Rehab and Healthcare.
Mr. Caldwell was born on November 8, 1933 in Gastonia, NC a son of the late Irene Caldwell. He was a retired barber and a Veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force having served as a medic in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the DAV and member of VFW #9539 in Roebuck. He was first married to the late Dorothy Knighten Mosier Caldwell.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two step-daughters, Brenda M. Moore and husband Don of Boiling Springs and Patricia M. Summer of Jonesville; four step-sons, Ted E. Mosier and Rickie Mosier both of Pacolet, Johnathan Riley of Woodruff and Barry Ravan of Chesnee; one niece, Judy of Kings Mountain, NC; one sister-in-law, Hazel Caldwell of Gastonia, NC; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Paul Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Chaplain Allen Leonard. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be the Men of the VFW.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
