Joe Matthews, 67, of LaGrange, KY, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home. He was born in Owensboro, KY and served in the Army National Guard. He retired after 36+ years of service as District Manager of Texas Gas Transmission Corporation in Louisville and also consulted at Hall Contracting of Kentucky.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Anna Ruth (Davison) Matthews and daughter, Sharon Matthews. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Jones) Matthews; daughter, Sherri Cooper (Chris); sister, Jane Higgins; grandchildren, Matthew Cooper, J.D. Elder, and Kyle Cooper; aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2-8 pm and Saturday, September 9, 11 am – 1 pm, at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, Kentucky. The Funeral Service will be at 1 pm on Saturday, September 9, in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Yeaman Cemetery, Grayson County, KY.
