PRINCETON – Melanie Vestal Thompson, 42, of Princeton, was welcomed into Heaven by her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 4, 2017 following a long illness. Born July 30, 1975 in Princeton, she was the daughter of Glen and Margaret Myers Vestal of Princeton.

Melanie was a graduate of Concord College and worked as a social worker. She later worked as a substitute teacher. She attended Fairview Christian Community Church and Lashmeet Church of God. She showed love and kindness to everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Eric Thompson; her precious daughter, Helen Ann whom she adored; one brother, Michael Vestal and wife Kaitlyn of Princeton; and a half-brother, Glen Vestal, Jr. of Lashmeet.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer and the Rev. Gary Raulerson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2017 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.bailey-kirk.com.
