elda Jean Partain was born September 20, 1938, in Kansas, Oklahoma, to Howard and Myrtle (Thompson) Asher. She passed away at her home on August 31, 2017, at the age of 78 years 11 months and 11 days.
A lifelong resident, Velda was a 1956, Kansas High School graduate. She married LeeVon Partain on October 15, 1955. She would raise her family in Kansas, Oklahoma. She loved her family and became the family geneologist. She enjoyed spending time with all of the family.
Velda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kansas and taught Sunday School there for many years. She had a passion for Bible study.
She and LeeVon were always available when there was a community need, helping people during difficult times.
Velda would often travel with LeeVon due to his work as a pipeline welder.
Velda is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jack Asher.
She is survived by her husband LeeVon Partain of the home; two daughters, Sherry Morris and husband Eric of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Terry Katz also of Kansas, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Whitney Woodruff and his wife Stephani of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Ashley D. Woodruff and his wife Jennifer of Kansas, Oklahoma and Connor Katz o f Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great grandson, Ashley Ray Woodruff; one sister, Rosetta Welch; two brothers, Howard J. Asher and Dennis P. Asher all of Kansas, Oklahoma; as well as many other friends and loved ones.
