Last Will and Testament of Richard Jarratt; Written: 13 July 1672; Proved: As the date is written: 07 January 1672; It must be 1673 since he wrote the will in July 1672. Richard signed his name as Richard Jarratt, using his mark as an "R with a cross at the bottom of the R" He sealed it with red wax. What a clever mark he had. Richard mentions Wife, Margery; He only mentions son, Charles and gives him all his land, housing, his horse, a Bay mare, six year old in November; Cows; He asks that Charles be taught well in reading and writing. He gives to Daughter Elizabeth for her dowry, cows, goats.If his son Charles dies, he states to sell, and divide between his brothers in England and there appears to be a Robert.
