Obituary for Christina Maria Lippert
On Friday morning, September 1, 2017 an angel arrived to escort Christina "Chris" M Belew Lippert to her heavenly home. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a valiant battle against cancer.

Chris was born on June 16, 1925 in Dallas County, Texas to Jessie Ernest Belew and Cleon Ward Belew. She attended North Dallas High School where she was a Sargent and Squad Leader in the Girls Victory Military Corps graduating in 1943.

She enlisted in the Army (WAC) on her 20th birthday during World War II in 1945. Her basic training was completed at Fort Des Moines, Iowa where she first met her lifelong friend Marge Michaelis. Chris was also selected for medical training which qualified her as a medical aid/technician. Next she was posted to the base hospital at Fort Snelling, MN. She had completed gas mask training there and was scheduled for overseas deployed, but the war ended before those orders came through.

At Fort Snelling, many soldiers were returning from the fighting in Europe. Chris made an immediate first impression on one handsome Army Corp from Bismarch, North Dakota. She accidently broke the needle off in his arm while administering a required injection. Marvin M Lippert had just returned from the European theater where he drove an ambulance transporting wounded soldiers from several major battles. As a member of the 131st Army Medical Evacuation Unit he had been stationed near the end of the war at one of the Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camps during its liberation and for several weeks afterwards. He had vivid memories and some photographs of the dead which he helped bury while stationed there.

On September 4, 1946 they were married at the Ft Snelling Memorial Chapel by the base Chaplain, Harry S Smith.

By December of that year they both received Honorable Discharges from the Army because Ft Snelling was closing. They moved to Bismarch, North Dakota where on August 26, 1947 a son, Michael W Lippert was born. One year later, pregnant with her second child, Chris and Marvin returned to Dallas, TX.

After a third child, Rebecca Ann Lippert, was born in 1952 the family moved to Desoto, Texas. There they became active members of the Hampton Road Baptist Church. All three children attended the Desoto Public schools graduating from Desoto High School.

After the kids were all living independently, Marvin and Chris moved to Athens, TX. They joined the First Baptist Church of Athens where they were active members. They also belonged to the Athens VFW and Chris did volunteer work delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program in Athens and working as a "Pink Lady" volunteer for East Texas Medical Center in Athens.

Marvin Lippert was called home to heaven on June 29, 1999.
Son Michael Lippert joined him there on February 15, 2009.

Following a serious decline in her health, Chris Lippert moved from Athens to Mansfield TX in 2013. She lived with and was cared for by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Darlin-Wilson and son in law, Roger S Wilson.

Tragically and with little warning, Rebecca went home to live with Jesus on December 14, 2014. Her son in law had promised his wife that he would continue to care for her mother. He has kept this promise.

Chris was proceeded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, her son, Michael Lippert, and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Lippert Darlin-Wilson.

Chris is survived by son-in-law, Roger S Wilson of Mansfield, TX, Grand-daughter Brandi Dubasik and husband Travis, Great Grand-daughters Madison and Peyton all of Bunnlevel, North Carolina. One "God Daughter" Debra J Lewis and husband Stanley of Sweetwater, TX. Also by one brother - in - law, Jim Lippert and his wife Rosemary of Athens, TX, one daughter, one granddaughter, and one great grandson.

Special thanks go to Brenda Plumley, Joyce Cooper, Lori Jeffus, and Linda Miller for providing in home care for Chris during her illness. Thank you also to All-star Hospice Services of Arlington for guiding us through this process for the past year. Chris loved you all.

Graveside Service with Military Honors will be Friday, September 8 at 1:00. Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas.
