Obituary for Joan Whitton Clement

Joan Whitton Clement, 79, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Mesa, AZ. Born to Joseph John Whitton and Corrine Annie Adams on October 05, 1937. Joan married Donald Carl Clement in the LDS Mesa Temple on June 8, 1956.

Joan was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and awarded the Silver Fawn. She is also remembered by many as the Maricopa Stake Camp director – making wonderful memories for young women at Camp LoMia.

Joan was a talented artist and teacher as owner of her art studio, Paint N’ Things in Mesa.

Joan is survived by children David (Patti), Emily, Wayne (Phyllis), Donna (Gary), Jason (Robyn), Jesele and Jamey; 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Ron Whitton Sr. and Edith Larson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Suzanne Tenney, son, John and her eternal companion, Donald.

Her funeral service will be held at the LDS Maricopa Stake Center, 611 N. Stewart, Mesa, AZ Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM preceded by a viewing from 9:00 to 9:45 AM.
