Family tradition from Wm A. Earp's side states: "the story is that Carrie died of childbirth complications. Will Earp left the child with her family (probably her brother Samuel and his wife) and went to look for work. When soon after the child died, they sent word to him and asked for money for burial expenses. He complied by sending the money but never went back to find the grave. We cannot know if this is true. We have not been able to locate a grave for either Carrie or an Earp baby, either in Madison County NE or in the Glendon Cemetery in Guthrie County IA. where the Mains are buried."
Perhaps future newspaper searches will discover her burial place. Perhaps some kind FAG visitor will inform us.
