Arleigh Joe Carpenter, Sr., 72, of Davidson, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1944 in Mackinac Island, MI, to the late Charles and Ardys Engle Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a veteran of the US Coast Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Penny" Howard Carpenter; and a brother, Donald Carpenter.
He is survived by his children, Arleigh Joe Carpenter, Jr. (Pamela), Theresa McCormick (Mike); step-daughter, Jennifer Howard Edwards (David); partner, Christine Marie Olea; brother, Charles "Cork" Carpenter; grandchildren, Amelia and Miranda McCormick, Madison Carpenter, Sydney Wiggins and Ashley Edwards.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 17 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic Rites and Military honors. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Carpenter family.
